Swindon Big Knit Brings the Community Together in the Spring Sunshine

The weather was glorious on Saturday afternoon as the doors opened for the Swindon Big Knit at the Haydon Wick Parish Council Room. Our wonderful ladies arrived bearing gifts — a stunning collection of knitted and crocheted creations, from blankets and baby items to hats, scarves, wrist warmers and squares.

In total, we received:
• 21 blankets
• 116 squares
• 71 hats, scarves and wrist warmers
• 102 baby items and twiddle muffs

Throughout the afternoon, the room was full of chatter, creativity and clicking needles. Some stayed to knit and crochet together, while others popped in to drop off their makes or pick up more yarn. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces — and to welcome new ones too.

Thank you to everyone for your generosity and hard work. We’ll be distributing all these beautiful items over the next couple of weeks.

See you in June xx
